Description
Live USB creation procedure must be updated to
include 8.10 release of ubuntu.

the info there is for 8.04, ubuntu has now the possibility to make an LiveUsb image from the desktop without the need of booting form livecd.

This can be closed out now, right? I was able to make a LiveUSB with Intrepid using the directions on the page.

I have started working on a SOAS implementation using Ubuntu 8.10 as the underlying OS.

The (linux) application to create a LiveUSB from a running LiveCD or download '.iso' is called usb-creator (is python/gtk should should be ok to sugarize ;-)
There are multiple applications which allow one to create a LiveUSB from a LiveCD 'iso' from the Windows desktop/prior to burning/running the linux CD. For example http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
We would need to consider whether the method of creating persistance is compatable across differ OS bases...
