Gary, thanks for following up.
As sugar-update-control is not part of the Sucrose release, please use dev.laptop.org for filing bugs regarding that component so Scott does get informed.

Ooh, not part of sucrose, that one surprises me... FYI: the follow-up issue is over at http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/9161 which may actually be a new Sugar issue, hard to tell (both home views did not get auto-updated after clean install and full software update (tested twice), activities only displayed after a reboot or restart). Bonus curiosity, EToys didn't update install first time through (on both tests) but took fine 2nd time through the SW updater.
I've ported the updtaer. First, this needs a new sugar-toolkit release, and then I will bug Scott to do a new sugar-update-control release.
