#689 closed defect (invalid)

Palette in home view activity icons should say "resume blabla activity"

Description

Instead of just telling the name of the activities which can be resumed on the home view, these options should say "resume Browse activity", i.e., for all past resumable activities, it would make it clearer what they do if they explicitely said "Resume <activity>".

I think I disagree, actually. This would be a lot of redundant information, and consume extra space. Instead, we simply need someone to implement labeled groupings for menu items, as shown in the mockups, such that the "Start" and "Resume" options are clearly apparent.

Ah I see, I keep forgeting about the mockups. They would be great to have.

Resuming right to the correct instance of an activity is valuable but hard.

For example, take the task:
create 5 paintings and use them in Memorize.

The workflow we used for that is described here:
http://www.mail-archive.com/iaep@lists.sugarlabs.org/msg05534.html

I believe there were a bunch of comments about how that was not the intended design re: Keep and Open. What would be the flow if you could resume activity instances?

Looks like this one bug ID is closed. If so, close it so we can focus the relevant thread elsewhere.

Thanks,

Greg S

  • Component changed from design to SoaS
  • Distribution/OS changed from SoaS to Unspecified
  • Owner changed from eben to mchua sdz

Bulk change distribution=SoaS -> component=SoaS

  • Component changed from SoaS to design

This is a design issue that got accidentally assigned to SoaS during an auto-tag. Reassigning - sorry for the confusion.

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

A change as this should be discussed as a feature.

Probably is not relevant anymore.
