emacs hangs Sugar

Reported by: walter Owned by: erikos
Priority: Unspecified by Maintainer Milestone: Unspecified
Component: Sugar Version: Unspecified
Severity: Unspecified Keywords: 13.2 os4
Cc: Distribution/OS: OLPC
Bug Status: Unconfirmed

Description

Running an emacs window (don't use the -nw option) from Terminal hangs up Sugar. The emacs window is created and *very* slowly is rendered. Meanwhile, the rest of Sugar is sluggish to the point of uselessness. Exiting emacs removes the window but Sugar does not recover. Running emacs with the -nw option works fine. I haven't tested other programs that launch windows from Terminal.

Hey Walter, I would say this is: http://lists.laptop.org/pipermail/testing/2013-April/003001.html

I think this is an XO-4 graphics issue, filed as http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/12658.
