Description
The colour choice (white with progressive white fill) for the 'charging battery' looks like a missing battery.
This is especially noticable when compaired with the 'muted audio'
icon which is an empty white speaker.
A better choice might be to supperimpose a '+' (plus sign) over the coloured (user colours) battery icon when charging, and a '-' (minus sign) when discharging. When the battery is neither charging or discharging just the battery level icon would be shown.
A white battery icon could be used to represent a missing or faulty battery.

I find it a bit strange as well. When the battery is charging it is white. And when we run on battery power it is the coloured one and does reflect the %.
Actually, when charging I would be interested in the percentage which I only get in the palette currently. Maybe the icon should be just different when we are charging? The gnome icon shows a battery and a plug on top of it.
Eben, can you please comment?

Eben once told me that the idea was, when the battery is charging, it isn't being used by the user to power his laptop.
no battery = no icon
battery is charging = white icon
battery is powering laptop = color icon
A quick fix would be to add the charging badge to the battery when charging.

+1 the monochrome silhoutte on it's own is too ambiguious, a Z lightning bolt inside the silhoutte, or a badge would be good.

Remove monochrome from battery icon while charging
Fixes #44 . This is part of the fix. Previously the charging state was
distinguished with the monochrome, but was too ambiguous. Now we added
a Z lightinng bolt inside the icon.

must have been a late night...
'missing' battery _IS_ shown as solid white, perhaps would be better as white outline or with dashed boarder for B/W displays.
comments about '+' and '-' still stand.
