Priority: | Unspecified by Maintainer | Milestone: | Unspecified |
Component: | Sugar on a Stick (SoaS) | Version: | Unspecified |
Severity: | Minor | Keywords: | udev, initialization, nvidia, ethernet |
Cc: | Distribution/OS: | Unspecified | |
Bug Status: | Needinfo |
Description
Latest SoaS (Fedora 10) refuses to startx on nvidia-equipped ethernet controller laptop (also verified that same SoaS works ok on two DELL M6300 laptops)
System comes up ok, but never splashes, terminals are available, only X shows as defunct.
Hint: eventually worked using udev.rules and driver fiddling, but I think we need to make the image a tad more robust.
Laptop: DV2840se HP laptop, a.k.a. "The dreaded Vista-laptops"

Hi jbarrien,
Thank you for your specific report. I'm triaging bug reports now, and think it might help if you re-comment with the tweaks that got things to work, and possibly, some message listings to help the developers.
Thank you again for experimenting with Sugar. Your efforts combine with others to produce a better product!
