In fact, if I run {{{gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme sugar-100}}} manually (which will change settings globally, not just for Sugar), [attachment:with-gnome-settings-daemon-and-manually-set-theme.png the toolbar looks better], though the icons are still broken. So we probably need to figure out how to achieve all of what we did in gtkrc so far, without changing settings globally. This is on an up-to-date Debian Wheezy system.
