Description (last modified by HoboPrimate)
vi or ed aren't really user-friendly for kids (or adults!).
Also, many tutorials and other documentation on the web (about linux stuff) mentions nano when there is a need to edit a file in a terminal.
It is not a default installed package in Fedora, but it has been in Ubuntu for a while now.

Well, It would be used as a terminal level editor, something Write can't do. I just wanted kids to have an easier tool to hack their system and Sugar itself (for example, uncommenting the extra views for Home).

Write is the standard editor in SoaS. Specific text based editors are a matter of personal choice and are easily installed using yum
