Description
This is a copy of http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/8733 , is it OK to duplicate bugs in the two Tracs?
In Sugar 0.82.1 on staging-27 (an 8.2.1 pre-release) on an XO, I inserted a USB flash drive containing a .mp3 file. In the Journal I can hover over the icon and a menu appears with Start; and I can click (>) for more details then click the [>] Start menu item. But these do nothing.
The JournalActivity log contains
WARNING root: No activity can open this object, audio/mpeg.
I think the Journal should show some kind of warning, or better it should disable the Start menu item and replace its hover dropdown with a disabled "Start (no installed activity can open this)".

For an uninstantiated Journal entry in Sugar 0.88.1, the 'Start with' menu
item reveals an inactive, side sub-palette with the words 'No activity to
start entry' in gray.
Should we not try to keep the wording consistent for this similar condition?
Adding 'installed' to the terse wording may help the Learner understand, but
it is still quite technical for the general audience. Would it be better to
use more general wording, such as, "No activity is available to start the
entry."
Since it is a side sub-palette, the additional length should not be a
hindrance, and any additional clarity would better match Sugar's goals.
In messages like this, a grammatically complete sentence (also ending with a
period) is also very helpful and instructive for Learners.
In summary, if this reasoning is accepted, the sub-palette message should be
changed in at least 2 places.

I have applied this patch to Dextrose and it does indeed fix the issue with 1 part of the hover menu. However if the user selects 'View Details" from the hover menu there is a start button at the top of the screen. This also needs to be disabled for this to be considered fixed.

Replying to skierpage:
Yes, ideally in laptop.org would be only bugs specific to the OLPC hw/distro and in sugarlabs.org the ones that are independent of the platform. But downstream might also want to trac upstream bugs in their own tracker.
Makes sense, though we are in string freeze so this may not make 0.84 :/
