Read may timeout on XO-1 on DBUS action

1. Copy the Etoys reference manual from ​http://www.gosargon.com/EtoysReferenceManualV0.8.pdf to a USB stick.
2. Attempt to open it in Read-90 using OLPC 11.3.0 os3 from the USB stick.
3. You may encounter a timeout on DBUS in the process (attached)

This might actually be an XO-1 or Sugar issue; the XO in question has not detected that I turned off the access point with a school server, but olpc-netstatus does not show Salut or Gabble as chosen and instead leaves that field blank.

Still, launching the PDF from the normal Journal works but not from the USB stick which is odd.

I would have expected this to be a dupe of #2319, but the exception occurs somewhere in the Collaboration code. Might just be triggered by the difference in timing.
Same solution as suggested for #2319 should be applied as a first step.
