There is an open design discussion as yet unresolved regarding import/export activity feature icons. I agree the icon in Write needs to be updated, but we should be consistent. See http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/File:Labyrinth_Toolbar_1.png or http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/File:TurtleBlocks_Toolbar_3.png for two potential design approaches.

Replying to RafaelOrtiz:

My vote for http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/File:TurtleBlocks_Toolbar_3.png

More accessible IMHO.

Thanks for the feedback. I should note that the red flag here for me is that Walter 'lifted' this design from the already in use object transfer upload, download, and notification icons (aka triggered by the Journal 'send to --> friend' over the network feature). We should try and find a design that does not conflate local Journal import/export with remote file transfers...

I am certainly not married to the icons I am using in TA. Seems like a bunch of mixed up graphics to me. It was always in my mind a temporary expediency.

It would be nice to make a clear set of icons that indicate loading from and saving to the Journal and to the file system distinct from each other and the object transfer process. These icons should have a generic form and also be able to take on a mime-type-specific form. They should also have both active and inactive states.

Maybe a job for Manuel Quiñones?
