Paint-28 - Shape merged cursor icons have active cursor point not at the tip of the cursor

Paint build 28 (available on activities.sugarlabs.org) modifies the cursor icon so that most active Shapes are seen as part of the mouse cursor when activated.

However this cursor appears to have its active location in a spot other than at the top-left corner, where the point of the arrow is. The actual active point appears to be near the middle vertically on left side of the cursor, but not on the exact left edge.

Reproduction:

1. Load Paint build 28 on a system; start it and select the Square Shape tool (or any other Shape tool using the overlaid cursor design).
2. Click on the canvas, and while holding the mouse button down, move diagonally up and right.

Expected: The top right corner of the square follows the top right pointer of the cursor.

Actual: We kind of follow the middle vertically on the left side of the cursor, and somewhat in the middle of the vertical cursor stroke on the left side as well.
