Missing linguas -

Reported by: cjl Owned by: sayamindu

Component: Sugar Version: Unspecified
Severity: Major Keywords:

Bug Status: Assigned

This recent commit added many of the newer languages we are hosting in Pootle to the ALL_LINGUAS line:

but there are a few notable omissions:

fi Finnish
na Nauruan

These should be probably be added.

-- fi has had recent translation work,

-- na is for OLPC Oceania and can expect L10n activity during the lifetime of this release.

  • Cc erikos sayamindu added

adding some CC's Erikos because he made the commit in question, Sayamindu because it is a localization thing.

Hey cjl, thanks for the ping. I am happy to add those, too. I checked if there was something in the po files before adding them and I think both did not contain anything yet. But maybe it is better to add them anyhow.

Your logic of checking the PO's is good. However, I think given recent L10n activity on lang-fi, it would be fair to include it.

There is also expected activity in nearer term on lang-na (and that is for a significant deployment by OLPC Oceania).

Fun Fact: The OLPC Oceania deployment in Niue was actually the first XO deployment to literally reach one laptop per child.

Tomeu, you added nau, I thought the language code was na?

It depends on whether you are using ISO 639-1 (na) or ISO 639-2 (nau)

I'm not sure which is required in this context.

The po files are only present when the language coordinator makes a push. We will add the languages, once they are present. As discussed with sayamindu on irc.

Reverted the changes:
