Description
XO-1, Fedora 9, Sugar, 0.82
I tested both open java and sun java.
Using yum to install open java creates a symlinked plugin in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins.
Browse loads this plugin and java works albeit slowly.
I removed open java. I manually installed sun java's rpm and symlinked the plugin to the same directory as above. Both Browse and Firefox do not load the plugin. However, when I symlink the plugin to /home/olpc/Activities/Firefox.activity/plugins/...the sun java plugin is loaded in the Firefox activity. However, linking the plugin to ~/Activities/Browse.activity/plugins still fails to work.
Sun Java in Firefox is much faster and more responsive then open java. It is unfortunate that currently the only realistic solution for java usage is through the Firefox activity.

This should just work, maybe some dependency missing? Any ideas about who with technical skills could allocate some time to look at this?
