Description
Writes primary toolbar for the new toolbar design has too many icons added so that 4 of them have fallen off into a drop down menu. Also note that the overflow palette is not showing any text names for the overflowing secondary toolbar icons (just blank empty space).

I use 1200x900 with 100 scaling to match XO display.

FWIW: The equivalent screen dimensions for 72 scaling would be 864x553 (if I got my maths right). Your 1024x786 should really set scaling to 85, but only 72 or 100 is supported :-(

From the HIG, we have 14 cells for the toolbar:

Alsroot's new Write layout now fits correctly – the main goal of getting the 'Stop' icon always visible is achieved :-) I'll have a longer think about the Write set of primary tools as I think (now that it looks like this is the accepted design?), that we can pick a better top level set. FWIW I've attached a screen shot of the Write toolbar, before alsroot's latest change, with the HIG grid marked on it. Thanks for the reminder Tomeu, I knew it was documented somewhere :-)
What screen resolution do you use?
I tested it on 1024x768 with 72 scaling(I think 100 scaling is useless in 1024x768 mode)
