File transfer from XO running Dextrose 3 does not arrive on the other end

The "Send to Friend" feature (used to transfer journal entries), seems not be working in the dx3 image (tested on dx3g091.img).

Steps to reproduce :

1. On an xo-1 (running dx3g091.img), make a friend (from neighbourhood view).

2. In the journal palette, use the "Send to friend" feature to transfer an entry (the entry should contain a file).

3. The "outgoingfiletransfer" icon will appear on the top-panel frame.

4. However, nothing happens on the destination xo-1 (running dx3g091.img) - no "incomingfiletransfer" icon seen; no entry received.

NOTE THAT THIS IS WORKING FINE on os508dx.img. (tested on the same xo-1 s)

Please find attached the "shell.log" on the server xo-1 (the xo on which the transfer was initiated).

Can you try whether this happens with corresponding OLPC builds as well, please? It it only happens on Dextrose, please set the "distribution" field to Dextrose.

Does it always happen or just in some cases (e.g. the first time after a restart)?

Log files would be appreciated, too.

I tried it on os883.img as well (​http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Release_notes/11.3.0), and it worked there.

So, it seems to be happening on dextrose only. Also, I have not been able to made it work even once on dextrose.

Please note, the logs.zip are the logs on the "initiator" xo-1.

The feature is working in general in dx3g091; I could do file transfers on a salut connection. However, I still cannot get it to work, if the XOs are logged onto "jabber.sugarlabs.org".

As before, the transfer works (on both salut connection, and "jabber.sugarlabs.org") on os883.img.

It's working fine with my private server (running ejabberd on Debian Squeeze), too. So not per se a Dextrose issue and probably not an issue for deployments as they are usually running ejabberd on XS rather than whatever jabber.sugarlabs.org currently uses (Prosody IIRC).

Strange that it happens only on dx3g091, though. os883 ships exactly the same Telepathy packages (except for telepathy-sofiasip-0.6.6-1.fc14.i686 which isn't installed on os883).

Can you verify that dx3g091 vs. os883 really makes a difference, rather than being just unreliable in general and happening to have hit only dx3g091 during your testing, please?

In fact, jabber.sl.o runs proxy65 for file transfer feature.
So, it will be really useful to recheck "dx3g091 vs. os883" on jabber.sl.o.

I tried again, and yes, the file-transfer also did NOT happen to work on os883.img, with logging on "jabber.sugarlabs.org". I am sorry :-( (simplifies the problem though :-) )
