Control Panel needs "unmount" for mountable media

Description

Other desktop managers that make use of the udev/hald/console kit etc to recognize and make visible such devices as the USB drive or SD card have a GUI mechanism to unmount the device. The lack of this capability is annoying in sugar on the XO under certain circumstances (such as when the SD doesn't cooperate and is hard to physically eject.) So I think there should be an option to do this in the control panel.

This would be sufficiently out of the way to not attract the attention of the kids, and it doesn't seem to have any potential for abuse anyway. It came up for me when I was trying to use the XO itself to prepare an SD card to have an alternate bootable system, and couldn't for quite a long stretch of fiddling get the SD card out to reboot and kill hald.

  • Bug Status changed from Unconfimed to Needinfo

You can unmount a device from the device palette in the journal, and (in 0.83) from the device icon in the frame. Is this what is needed?

Also, could you specify which version of Sugar are you using?

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from new to closed

I think we can close this one - as the functionality to unmount is there.
