Dextrose 439dg wont connect to wifi

Description

OS439dg fails to connect to wifi, 373pyg connects ok
i recollect maybe some networking stuff is purposefully disabled, if thats what is happening then menu items should be greyed

439dg:
Trying to associate with 00:1c:f0:3a:e1:aa (SSID='DLINK' freq=2437 MHz)
Association request to the driver failed
Authentication with 00:1c:f0:3a:e1:aa timed out.

373pyg:
Trying to associate with 00:1c:f0:3a:e1:aa (SSID='DLINK' freq=2437 MHz)
Association request to the driver failed
Associated with 00:1c:f0:3a:e1:aa
CTRL-EVENT-CONNECTED - Connection to 00:1c:f0:3a:e1:aa completed (reauth) [id=0 id_str=]

This doesn't seem like an specific issue of Dextrose. could be a broken or damaged wifi card.

is this happening in more than one machine?.

just 1 machine
could be hardware
will reflash the 2 machines swapping os's
