Sugar freezes when the 'Register' option is clicked (Even if jabber server exists)

When I try to register my machine from Sugar by clicking on the 'register' option, Sugar freezes.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start the Sugar emulator.
2. Right click on the XO icon.
3. Click on the 'Register' option.

Expected behavior:
If the connection to server takes time, the connection should be timed out (or dropped) after some considerable time and a message "Cannot connect to the server" should be displayed, so that the freezing can be avoided.
