#2042 closed defect (obsolete)

os240py - Record-81 playback screen is messed up (where Record-79 playback screen is not)

Reported by: mikus Owned by: alsroot
Priority: Unspecified by Maintainer Milestone: Unspecified
Component: Record Version: 0.88.x
Severity: Unspecified Keywords:
Cc: dsd Distribution/OS: OLPC
Bug Status: Unconfirmed

Description

os140py; (sugar 0.88); F11-on-XO1 - After recording a video (or audio) clip in Record-81, then playing it back (within Record itself), part of the output picture gets overlaid with a black rectangle. The shelf at the bottom of the Activity's screen also gets messed.

On the same machine/build, when Record-79 is used, the output picture does not get overlaid; and the shelf at the bottom of the Activity's screen extends all the way from screen edge to screen edge.

[A snapshot of the black overlay in Record-81 is easiest to take while playing back an audio clip. (Note: the audio clip sounds faint to me.)]

I'm sorry - you will have to look closely at the two .png files -- but the black overlay *is* there in the Record-81 snapshot.

[The audio clips were recorded at night while the XO-1 was pointed at the ceiling.]

To make the problem easier to see, I took another screenshot of Record-81 playing back an audio clip -- this time in the morning, using os258py (that's an update to os240py).

  • Cc dsd added

Record 79 contains a fix required to work on non-1200x900 screens or 1200x900 screens with different font size.

The fix was unacceptable for upstream, so versions after 79 do not work any more. We're waiting for the maintainer or someone else to rework Record's UI.
