display web site favicon or library icon in Journal

(I am re-filing bug 9188 from dev.laptop.org here per tomeu's request.)

If you go to Journal to find some web site or local collection you explored, they all appear with Browse's generic "globe" icon.

It would be nice if the Journal displayed the favicon of the web site, or the library icon of the collection. Maybe it could decorate its globe icon with the favicon/library icon, or something.

(I have never seen a web site favicon in Browse, but bug 3602 on dev.laptop.org suggests that Browse does display the favicon somewhere.)

I'm not convinced. Yes, a pervious Browse session have a 'last page you were at' effect when you resume, but it also has bookmarks recorded in the session, and history of all pages visited in that session. It is not like the Journal Browse entry is a trivial single page history. I find I have a handful of task based Browse Journal entries I frequently reuse and title to match the task (one for trac tickets, one for activities.sl.org, one for general browsing, etc).

It seems more appropriate to use favicons to help identify saved 'site specific browsers', or saved web page snapshots for off-line reading.

More is needed (e.g. thumb nail of picture) but this is a step in the right direction.

This is related to the general topic of thumbnails in the Journal... maybe 0.90 will see a major refactoring of the Journal UI.
