Remove "Erase" and "Remove favorite" Activity palette entries from Home favorite view

Description

Accidental removal of Activities via the Home favourites zoom view has been reported several times in the past on the ML, and again recently (Christoph Derndorfer, James Cameron, Caroline Meeks). There is an old related ticket in d.lt.o  http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/7828 regarding confusion over the "Erase" option in the Journal vs. the "Erase" option in Home.

The "Erase" Activity option would remain in Home list view palettes, for management. Removing "Erase" from home favourites reduces the chance of accidental deletions now that these palettes are also being used to launch past Journal entries.

So this proposal is to remove the option that deletes the activity, but leave the one that removes the icon from the favorites view? Or remove both?

The proposal is to remove "Erase", but leave "Remove favorite".

Actually I vote for taking Remove Favorite out of the circle view also.

When I work with a class of young children I want the activities I have put on the home to stay on the home. I want them to have a clean, easy to navigate experience.

Older kids and adults can use the list view.

Another argument. If the user has not yet discovered the list view you don't want them to even remove favorites as that "breaks" the activity for them.

Actually I vote for taking Remove Favorite out of the circle view also.

OK, I'd be fine with that change as well, though it is more a borderline call. CC:ing Eben in case he has strong arguments to add. This makes Home list view the Activity maintenance/admin area, and Home favorite purely for starting new or resuming Activities.
